Do you think people from Nirvana band thought of themselves as "Artistic Geniuses"?

Kurt Cobain wrote most of Nirvana's songs, and since he took his own life and judging from his published notes, it's apparent he didn't think very highly of himself at all, in fact, saying his daughter would be better off without him. He was however, in many opinions, a very gifted lyricist and musician. There is no comparison between Nirvana and U2, other than they garnered legions of fans. They're styles and music are completely different. U2 continues to sell out stadiums to this day, however, no one will ever know if Nirvana could have sustained that same type of longevity.
